Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Cristena Bagne From Gettin' Crafty

Happy Birthday

My daughter Meadow's birthday is coming up, so she was the inspiration for this card. I am also using this card for the inspiration for the Sudsol Chat & Challenge that I host a couple of times a month.

The chats are super fun! We talk about ANYTHING that seems to come up (food comes up A LOT! HAHA!) Right now I am sure it is going to be all about the new catalog! This sketch is orginally from The Sweet Stop sketch challenge blog. I LOVE their sketches and I am 100% hooked on this one! I can't tell you how many times a year I use it! The best ribbon for this sketch is this wide striped grosgrain ribbon or the fat Satin ribbon... but they are going away :( So You better stock up while you can! You only have until May 31 (that is the end of this month) to get it!!!

I tried to get a good photo of it, but didn't really do a very good job at it... I used the Dazzling Details for the cake frosting and the little pink balls on the cake stand. The cupcake wraper is, of course my fave color, Pool Party. I even used a wheel!!!! You better write that one down! You know I don't use those that often. I used the cupcakes wheel for the background on the Blushing Bride CS , the wheel is also retiring so you better get it. The stamp set is Easy Events, which is staying. The "happy birthday" is actually part of the cupcake stamp. But I am a little crazy, yes first step is to admit you have a problem...haha! But I like to choose what sentiment goes with my images. So I tend to cut off the sentiment so I can use it with whatever I want to. But that is also how I get such a nice clean image when I separate them like this.

Card Patterns Sketch 164

Today it is Card Patterns! when I saw this sketch I knew exactly what stamp sets, colors, the whole deal! I love it when a great sketch comes together!

Everything just seemed to fall into place it was great! Thank you Card Pattern's for an awesome sketch!

I think I may even use this card for my swaps for convention! Or maybe my monthly card club. I haven't quite decided what I want to do yet, except I know I want to make more! I love this card! It is so simple, yet elegant and sweet. I just love it!

Card Makin Mama's, Pink Elephant & Late Mojo Monday

I didn't get to Mojo Monday last week, but I wanted to do it.. really! But alas, no chance! But today I woke up from a rough night and felt okay... So I thought I would get some catch up played. I got a lot done, but yeah... I am paying for it... did to much.

So when I saw the inspirational cake over at Card Makin' Mama's (LIGHT BULB!) Then... I remembered that the Pink Elephant had the theme of "SPRING" and I knew what I was going to do!!

Isn't that just a pretty cake!! I just love it! Definitly makes you smile! I am glad that I found the extra two challenge blogs. They really did a good job of getting the mojo going! no, pun intended..haha!  Over all I got about 3 cards, and 3 full projects finished... so it was a good day.

Oh yeah! you probably want to see the card I made for these challenges .. hehe! just thought I would keep you waiting a little longer :)you know the brat in me is coming out.

This card makes me think of spring afternoon's having tea out on my deck. Granted I need to get back in my groove to be able to do that.. which is coming soon :) I just can't wait to do it.

For Hoots

I have a friend that needs a little love and support right now.

I made this card a few days ago for the SUDSOL Chat & Challenge that I host once or twice a month.  If you are not a member you should be even if it is just to do the Chat & Challenges because we have A TON OF FUN!!! It was crazy how much fun we were having this time thinking of new sentiments we KNOW we need but probably would NOT fly with the world of Stampin' Up! HAHA!  The funny part was is they are techniques and terms we use all the time! but if you use it in the form of a sentiment... yeah.... LOL 

But I designed the sketch a few days before my friend needed a serious hug... so a couple of days later I came up with this card for her.  I actually used the "Under the big top" stamp set from the MDS. I printed out the sentiment and the elephant to make them larger than what they would be on the normal stamp set and went from there. I used the Big Shot to make the 3 7/8 circle, and the wonderful scallop circle that goes along with it. I also used the Decorative Label punch for the sentiment as well.  I used Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers to color the ball and the star. However I was not getting what I wanted from the Basic Grey marker so I went ahead and got out the blender pen and the Watercolor Crayons for the elephant. My friend also LOVES pink! So I had to make sure to give the elephant Regal Rose toe nails.

Mojo Monday 229

I said I would go for another sketch challenge this week and amazingly enough I got the Mojo Monday done.  I almost didn't think I was going to get it finished, but I got the inspirational idea in my head and just had to get it done.

I have bought this set when it first came out and have never used it, except for the card I made a couple of weeks ago (or at least that is how it feels) so it feels great using this set!  It drives me crazy when I buy a set, think "I LOVE IT, I can do SO MUCH with it" then when it gets here I stare at it for hours.... and hours.... and days... then never use it and it retires on me.

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to use for background since I didn't have any DSP that was really reaching out to me for the card, and what I had in mind. So, I made my own. Sometimes I actually have more fun making my own background paper.  This one I actually used the clouds from the "Send me soaring" stamp set.  The sentiment is from "Word for you" stamp set. I just used an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to just color the "Happy Birthday" the rest of it wouldn't fit.  I am really surprised, most of the time I do a pretty horrible job of figuring out the dimensions used to create a card to sort of match the sketch. But, I think I did a pretty good job this time! I am pretty happy about that! 

The balloons, and the birds are from the "Up, Up and Away" stamp set.  I really like using this stamp set. But I think I like the clouds from the "Send me soaring" stamp set with it better than the clouds from the "Up, Up and Away" stamp set. I used Baja Breeze Classic Ink to stamp the clouds on Whisper White card stock. Then I used ink, from the ink pad by squeezing it... then used a blender pen to color in the clouds.  After I got the clouds finished I used the same color to stamp some birds over the top.

The color I used for the baskets of the balloons is Early Espresso Classic Ink. The balloons themselves are Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Poppy Parade Stampin Write Markers.  The ribbon is also the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon that I just LOVE all the colors of the ruffled ribbon.  I did use a little bit of Baja Breeze card stock behind the cloud strips as well. Of course I had to put some more birds on it as well.

Sweet Dragonfly for The Sweet Stop SSS146

 

I believe I have all the basic elements.. but of course I had this idea and I just had to make it all fit..lol 

It was really nice to be able to sit and just do a card for a challenge again. I love doing them, but sometimes life just gets in the way of stamping... how rude!  This one is for The Sweet Stop Challenges

I plan on trying to do another one tomorrow, however I was really  inspired by this sketch since it had the spin of dies and/or punches.. You all know how much I love punch art.  I even make a few extras at times when I have my

punch art class every month. I just happen to have this little dragonfly in the back of my punch art book that was just screaming to be used for this card sketch.  I actually got the instructions for the Dragonfly from Kim Score, in the Garden tutorial. This is the only reason I don't list the punches for the Dragonfly - I don't think that would be very fair of me.

Weekly Challenge - Slider Pop Up Card

 

I cannot believe that it is already Friday! This is amazing how fast this week as gone by. 

This week over at Gettin' Crafty Online Classes the challenge is Slider Pop Up Cards. This is the one that I made for inspiration and for the FREE video tutorial that you will see at the bottom of this post. 

I thought this stamp set would be perfect for this card. Especially since when it slides up, it looks like the balloons are taking flight.

Gettin' Crafty Challenge 2 - Candy Heart Boxes

Okay I know this looks really hard.. but it's not! Trust me! This is one of the fastest projects you will have for valentines day besides maybe a card if you just stuck a lipstick stain on it and called it a day :) which yes, I have done..lol

But I promise you! It is easy! So easy..my son wants to make one and I know that he can! I am even going to put his up after he is done with his.  He may not be able to do the flowers.. but i can help with that part...lol

But all you have to do to win... is make one and put up a photo of it. If you have any problems putting up a photo of one... please let me know and I will help. Or there is a tutorial on how to do this under the FAQ in the forum.
