Today was the first class in a series of classes that can be taken from me to learn various techniques for shading, dimension and of course... making art out of nothing but scraps and punches! You can jTroger and hellen oin the classes at anytime, and it was so much fun today that this may just turn into an every month class.
We had a great time making my favorite little fat owl that I showed I believe a couple of weeks ago (my days are running together thank you austin! :) lol ) It was an MDS scrapbook type page with punch art and instructions.
While I cannot give you the instructions for this SUPER cute little kitty (because it was a tutorial I paid for) - I can send you to the wonderful woman that wrote the instructions and you will find many a more instructions from her as well, Kim Score! I love all the cute little things that she makes. I did do my wee little kitten a little different but not enough to take notice, which is fine with me. I love these little animals that kim can make. I really wish she knew where to get her inspiration on which punches to use for which animals! Talk about Talent!
But you can go over to her blog and find the tutorial called "Pet Collection" in the side bar under paid tutorials. The tutorial comes with other little animals for sale as well. the tutorials are VERY MUCH worth the money if not more!
At the end of the class we also made a 60th wedding anniversay card. It was really fantastic feeling to get to help with a card for these wonderful people. I even signed my name, my friend marie and her hubby (since the card was for their friends we have met) my hubby , my kids, my dogs, her cat, our pigs and maries Son and girl friend. It was a lot of fun to make it!
Since they have been married for 60 years I went ahead and put 6 flowers on the card, which the punch is the flower from the punch pack. The swing is nothing but the branch from the two step bird punch. Marie put some extra little wings on them from the two step bird punch, and of course when I put them on the swing they had to be holding hands. The bow is just the feet from the owl put together. The girl has a pearl in the center for her bow and the boy has just one of the small eyes from the two step owl punch in the middle of his bow tie.
This is just a very sweet card for any anniversary actually! We had a lot of fun figuring out what we wanted to do. I am very thankful that it turned out so well.
I was excited to hear tonight about the couple that received this card really liked it! I am happy to make them another very soon! I have actually started to make other cards with punch art up for some other friends, but they are almost to fun and cute to give away. I know I am bad :)
I hope that you enjoyed what I have to share with you today. I have to get moving so I can get set up for the annual OCDiva Family BBQ today, and then Bunco tonight! woohoo!
Until Next time my friends!
